Custom built to last
Special Features
* Suitable for use with steam, high or low pressure hot
water.
* All welded construction for reliability
* Designed and built to meet customer's requirements.
* Application industries include Heating and Ventilating, Motor, Food
Processing, Chemical and Water Treatment
Gunning steel heater batteries incorporate our own spirally wound gilled tubes,
welded into steel headers. Flanged or screwed connections can be supplied to
suit customer’s requirements.
Generally, batteries for use with steam have vertical tubes. The top header
being firmly suspended from inside of the casing, the bottom headers are
located in guides allowing for expansion or contraction within the casing.
Hot water batteries are of similar construction but have horizontal tubes.
Specification
Primary Heating Surface
Gunning all steel heater batteries are constructed from best quality medium
or heavy weight steel tube to dimensions and weights in accordance with
B.S.1387. Other material specifications can be supplied upon request. All
headers and bends will comply to B.S.1387, or other materials to meet the
required specification.
Secondary Heating Surface
18g. or 20g. steel tape of varying widths is wound in a
continuous spiral onto tubes at varying pitches under
considerable tension, leaving the fin of semi-flat profile and having a regular
crimped contact area with the primary tubes resulting in a perfect mechanical
bond with excellent heat characteristics.
Connections
Flanged or plain ends for welding are normally supplied and screwed ends
can be provided when required.
Casings
Galvanised pressed steel casings, with a channel section; provide a rigid
frame supporting the elements and headers. Close spaced drillings are provided
for duct connections as standard. Special connection requirements are provided
on request.
Vents and Drains
Vents and drains are not normally fitted unless specifically called for at
the time of the enquiry or placing the order. Due to the multiplicity of system
designs the decision to provide vents and drains must be left to the customer.
Every advice is available on this from Gunning engineers.
Operating Mediums
To be specified at the time of the enquiry when material
specifications will be determined to meet the required conditions.
Tests
Completed coils are tested hydraulically to 500 p.s.i.g. or 35.153 Kg/cm2
unless otherwise specified.
Finish
All heat transfer surfaces are treated with heat resisting paint as
standard, or alternatively, can be zinc coated or galvanised if required.
Casings are self colour unless otherwise specified.
Ordering
The following information should be given when requiring a quotation.
